WALTHAM, MA – Looking to clinch the 2009-10 Northeast-10 Conference regular season title at Bentley University (11-0 NE-10), the Merrimack College men's tennis team (10-1 NE-10) fell short to the Falcons, 6-3, at the Waltham Indoor Courts on Saturday afternoon.

Likely locking up the two-seed in the Northeast-10 tournament, Merrimack will host a quarterfinal match on Tuesday, April 20th at North Andover High School.

The Warriors struggled from the beginning on Saturday, dropping the first three points in doubles play.  The three points the Warriors scored, though, were the most a Northeast-10 opponent has racked up on the Falcons this season.

The loss also snapped an eight-match win streak for the Warriors, dating back to March 10th in Florida over Spring Break.

With a No. 4 win for Sean Pahler (Rumson, NJ), the sophomore improved to 10-0 in the season in Northeast-10 Conference play.  With a win at No. 2 singles, sophomore Max Eppley (Malaga, Spain) improved to 7-4 in that position and 9-2 in Northeast-10 play.  Junior Tim McHugh (Edgartown, MA) picked up the Warriors final point with an 8-5, pro set victory at No. 6.
