Men's Tennis Advances to NE-10 Semis with 5-0 Win over Saint Anselm
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Cruising through the Northeast-10
Quarterfinals, the second-seeded men's tennis team took down No. 7
Saint Anselm Tuesday afternoon, 5-0.
The Warriors advance to the semifinals where they will host the
third-seeded Skyhawks of Stonehill College at North Andover High
School.
Earlier in the season, Merrimack won a 5-4 decision at Stonehill
that began outdoors before the teams were forced inside due to
rain. The Skyhawks took down No. 6 Pace on Wednesday, 5-0, in
the Conference quarterfinals.
Making quick work in doubles play, sophomore Rishi
Rajpal (New Delhi, India) and junior Liam
Hoare (West Newbury, MA) won their No. 2 match
allowing the fewest points (one) of the three Merrimack duos.
Sophomore Sean Pahler (Rumson, NJ) and
junior Tim McHugh (Edgartown, MA) clinched
the quarterfinal win shutout wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles
respectively, after each helping their doubles team to a No. 1 and
No. 3 win earlier.
