#9 Women's Lacrosse Cruises to 22-2 Victory over Queens
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The ninth-ranked Merrimack women's
lacrosse team downed Queens College 22-2 Wednesday afternoon in a
non-conference game for its seventh-straight victory, setting a new
program record.
Thirteen different Warriors scored in the first half, including
Irene Lantz (Tyngsboro, MA), Samantha Lausier
(Tyngsboro, MA) and two from Liz Greeley (Norwood,
MA). Meredith
Prior (Branford, CT) added a team-best five points
while Christina
McCarron (Westwood, MA) scored twice. Merrimack
outshot the Knights 26-1 and forced seven turnovers.
They added seven more in the second as Sarah Salatto
(Guilford, CT) tallied her first goal of the season.
Freshmen Courtney Boli
(Falmouth, MA), Casey MacNeil
(Waltham, MA) and Kristin Elliott
(Amherst, NH) also picked up their first career goals in
the second half.
“We had a good performance overall today,” said head
coach Corinne Baker. “We are looking forward to our final two
regular season games and playing well heading into the conference
tournament.”

Whiteway (Billerica, MA) stopped one shot in the first
half and scored her first-ever goal in the second, while Kelly
Pasquantonio (Plainville, MA) made her goaltending
debut in the second half, stopping one shot.
In all, 19 Warriors picked up a goal in the victory, while all
22 who played totaled at least a point.
Merrimack (9-2, 7-2 NE-10) concludes the regular season at
Franklin Pierce on April 28 at 6 p.m. and at home against Southern
New Hampshire on May 1 at 1 p.m. The Warriors will likely finish
third or fourth in the Northeast-10 Standings and host a
quarterfinal game in the conference tournament.
