COLCHESTER, VT– The Merrimack College women's tennis team (3-9, 3-4 NE-10) dropped an 8-1 decision Tuesday afternoon to the Saint Michael's College Purple Knights (10-7, 9-3 NE-10).

“It was a tough day at the office,” said head coach Chris Stevens.  “One positive we can take away from today's match is Cristina pulling out a win in the third set.”

Senior Cristina Lucin (Wesley Chapel, FL) was the lone winner for the Warriors on the afternoon, going three sets in a super tiebreak win at No. 1 singles.  With four straight wins at singles play, Lucin improved to 8-0 in dual match contests and 6-0 in Northeast-10 dual match singles play.  In her last 10 outings, she is 8-2.

The Warriors return to action against the University of New Haven on Saturday at North Andover High School for a 3:30pm start.
