Men's Cross Country Places Third at Shacklette Invite

MANCHESTER, NH – John Doherty (Chelmsford, MA) placed eighth at the Shacklette Invitational, leading the Merrimack men's cross country team to a third-place finish to open its 2010 season.

Seven Bentley runners led the charge, including Rod Dextradeur, who captured the race in 26:58.1.

Doherty was the top non-Falcon, finishing in 27:44.0.

Other top Merrimack runners included Tyler Faulkner (Boxborough, MA), who made his Warrior debut, running 18th overall in 28:40.5, and Harry Mullin (West Hartford, CT), who was 19th in 28:47.2.

Merrimack is idle next weekend before racing in the Codfish Bowl on September 25 in Boston.
