Women's Cross Country Races to a 6th Place Finish at Codfish Bowl
BOSTON, MA – The Merrimack women's cross country team
posted an impressive sixth-place finish at the Codfish Bowl on
Saturday, fueled by four runners finishing in the top-55
overall.
For the second time in as many races, freshman Briana Devereaux
(Londonderry, NH) was the top Merrimack runner, taking
27th in 20:44. Rebecca Ainscow
(Derry, NH) (34th, 20:56), Caitlin
Kasala-Halinan (Worcester, MA) (48th, 21:24)
and Ashley Sarris
(Shelton, CT) (55th, 21:29) all posted strong
performances.
Greater Boston TC won the team side of the meet, while Bentley,
the top NE-10 school, was second. Southern New Hampshire finished
just ahead of Merrimack at fifth, while Saint Anselm
(seventh) and Adelphi (12th) also competed.
Merrimack races in the New England Invitational on October 9.
