DURHAM, N.H.- The Merrimack men's tennis team claimed a 7-2 victory over American International Thursday at the University of New Hampshire, tying a program mark for most wins in a season with 14. The Warriors improve to 14-3 on the season and 8-0 in the Northeast-10. The Yellow Jackets move to 0-8 overall and 0-6 in the league with the loss.

Merrimack captured a pair of points in the doubles portion of the match, enabling a 2-1 lead heading into the singles section. Chris Barnhart (Longmeadow, Mass.) and Max Eppley (Malaga, Spain) rolled to an 8-1 victory at the No. 1 singles position. Tim McHugh (Edgartown, Mass.) and Chris Toegemann (Narragansett, R.I.) prevailed 8-4 at the second slot for the Warriors. Due to an abbreviated squad, Merrimack was forced to surrender the third doubles point.

At the top singles spot, Barnhart breezed to his second-straight 6-0, 6-0 victory. The freshman has claimed five-straight sets with 6-0 results.

Eppley picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 2 position. McHugh cruised to a 12-game sweep at the third singles slot, winning 6-0, 6-0.

Toegemann triumphed 6-1, 6-2 at the fourth singles match while Jon Ravenelle (North Andover, Mass.) downed American International's Mike Little 6-4, 6-1 at the fifth position.

Merrimack seeks to set a new program record for most wins in a season as it closes out the Northeast-10 Conference slate with home matches against Franklin Pierce, Stonehill and Bentley.
