Bergquist Earns Third-Straight Northeast-10 Goaltender of the Week Accolade
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Junior Kerri Bergquist (Mashpee, MA) of the #7 Merrimack field hockey team garnered her third-consecutive Northeast-10 Conference Goaltender of the Week honor, earning the accolade for the week ending September 18.
Last week, Bergquist turned aside all 12 shots on goal in a 2-0 week for the Warriors. She registered six saves in a 3-0 win at Saint Michael's and in a 3-0 victory over American International at home. The junior leads the nation in save percentage (.913), ranks second in saves per game (10.5) and third in goals-against average (1.00).
Bergquist has now registered shutouts in the past four games for Merrimack, setting a new program record. She has also helped the Warriors reach a new program mark for most consecutive wins with five. Bergquist currently sports a scoreless-streak spanning 299:22.
She has played a vital role in Merrimack's 5-1 record and reaching #7 in the NFHCA national poll, the highest in program history.
Bergquist and the Warriors are in action tonight at 7 pm as they take on Franklin Pierce in a non-conference tilt.
