Women's Varsity 4+ Boat Takes Home Bronze At The New Hampshire Championships Regatta
PEMBROKE, NH - Merrimack women's crew took home a bronze medal at the New Hampshire Championship Regatta on Sunday afternoon in the varsity 4+ race.
"We were very happy to see our second four race so well and put up such
a strong finish," said head coach Tim Desrosiers. "The hard work that they have put up in practice really showed up as well as the depth of our squad. We have one race left for the fall, the Head of the Charles Regatta."
The Merrimack "B" boat raced to a bronze medal in the 4+ varsity race while their "A" team finished right behind them.
The Warriors also raced two boats in the Novice 4+ event as they took home gold and silver respectively. Mara Payne (Sandwich, Mass.) raced in her first career race for the Warriors and was apart of the silver medal winning team.
"Mara Payne raced in her first ever race and was part of the silver medal winning four," stated Desrosiers. "Our coaching staff was very impressed with her race."
