Baseball Blanked by #10/18 Southern Connecticut, 3-0

LANTANA, FL- The Merrimack baseball team had its eight-game winning-streak snapped Sunday with a 3-0 loss to #10/18 Southern Connecticut. The Warriors slip to 9-7 on the season while the Owls improve to 13-3 overall.

"We played and pitched very well today but had some trouble putting together a few hits," said head coach Jim Martin. "We played a very good team who is well coached today and we will look to close out the trip on a high note tomorrow."

Alex Ciullo (Fall River, MA) paced Merrimack offensively with a career-high three hits in the contest.

Brett Julian (Weymouth, MA) started on the mound for the Warriors and went four innings while allowing one run. Brian Wolfendale (Methuen, MA) tossed three innings in a relief capacity and Chris Pinette (Norwood, MA) worked the final two innings on the hill.

Merrimack and Southern Connecticut will meet for the fourth time this season tomorrow, March 19.
