NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After a tough, 1-0, loss to No. 18 Southern New Hampshire two days ago, the Merrimack College men's soccer team returns home to play host to the Dolphins of Le Moyne College Saturday night at Martone-Mejail Field.

Last Time Out

In the first half, the Penment kept the Warriors to only four shot attemptsf, while the Penmen were able to generate numerous opportunities on offense. Southern New Hampshire attempted eight shots, while keeper Jose Silva (Northborough, Mass.) posted five saves in the first. .

Southern New Hampshire scored the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute of play. Penmen Brian Francolini was able to find the bottom right side of the net after a beautiful pass from Pierre Omanga, to secure the lead and the game.

Merrimack had numerous opportunities to put a tally on the scoreboard, but was unsuccessful against the Penmen defense.

Last Season against the Dolphins

  • Merrimack and Le Moyne tied 1-1.
  • Ronald Ried (Schwendi, Germany) tallied the equalizer with 3:13 to play.
  • The Warriors commanded play by virtue of their 24-8 advantage in shot attempts – including a 12-2 edge in the first half alone.

  • Senior goalkeeper Silva ranks fourth in the Northeast-10 with a .821 save percentage.

The Opponent:

  • The Dolphins are coming off back-to-back wins against Franklin Pierce and New Haven, on Oct. 5 and Oct.8, respectively
  • Le Moyne ranks third in the Northeast-10 with 14 goals scored.
  • Emmanuel Chanelo and Keleenna Onyeaka lead the Dolphins with four goals a piece and 10 and 9 points, respectively.
  • Keeper Matthew Silva has tallied 17 saves this season and a .680 save percentage.
