Men's Soccer Set for Road Bout Against New Haven Saturday Night

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After a, 1-0, shut out against Stonehill College Wednesday afternoon, the men's soccer team travels south to West Haven, Conn. to face the University of New Haven Chargers under the lights at Kayo Field.

Last Time Out
A lone goal in the 29th minute of play from junior Michael Buraczynski (Littleton, Mass.) was all the Warriors needed to shut down the Skyhawks.

In the 29th minute of play, Buraczynski headed the ball home for his third goal of the season. Buraczynski's goal came off a Merrimack corner kick from sophomore Augusto Silva (Hudson, Mass.) to give Merrimack an early, 1-0, lead over Stonehill.

Stonehill's final chance to tie the game at 1-all came in the 83rd minute of play when Ben Zandonella's shot was high above the net. The Warriors owned a10-5 advantage in shot attempts over the course of the game while both sides took four shot attempts in the second.

Last Season against the Chargers

  • Former senior striker Franklin Lemus Pena (Revere, Mass.) scored the game's only goal in the 24th minute.

  • Alain Laurent leads the team with two goals, while Matt Dilon leads the team with five points.
  • Keeper James Pyatsky has made 41 saves this season and has accumulated a .672 save percentage.
  • The Chargers only returned eight players from last season.
