NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Coming off a 3-0 win against the University New Haven Saturday night on the road, the Merrimack College men's soccer team returns to Martone-Mejail Field to host Saint Anselm College Tuesday night.

Last Time Out
The men's soccer team claimed its third victory in a row, when the squad defeated New haven, 3-0 on Saturday night at Kayo Field. Freshman Oscar Zepeda Cagide (Jalisco, Mexico) notched his first collegiate goal here at Merrimack. The Warriors maintained the 1-0 advantage heading into the locker room.

In the 79th minute of play junior Henrique Etges (Venancio Aires, Brazil) quieted the Charger fans with his second goal of the season. In the 89th minute of play, senior Mattias Drummond (Partille, Sweden) found the back of the net for his first goal of the season leading the Warriors to a 3-0 shutout.

Last Season against the Hawks

  • Former midfielder Rafael Cabral (Woburn, Mass.) tallied an unassisted strike in the 25th minute to put the Warriors on top, 1-0
  • Former senior midfielder Matt McFadden (Manchester, N.H.) took a long pass from the keeper and found the back of the net in the final minute of the second overtime period
  • The Warriors held a slim 20-19 edge in shot attempts, while Jose Silva (Northborough, Mass.) recorded seven saves in net to earn his fifth victory of the season.
  • Both teams mustered six corner kicks apiece and 25 combined fouls.

The Warriors:

  • The Warriors are currently ranked second in the Northeast-10 Conference, just behind Southern New Hampshire.
  • Augusto Silva (Hudson, Mass.) leads the team with four goals and 10 points.

  • Silva has accumulated 48 saves and a .857 save percentage.

The Hawks:

  • Coming off a 2-0 loss at Southern Connecticut on Saturday.
  • The Hawks have lost their last eight games this season, while their victories came against Stonehill and Assumption.
  • Zachary Heckt leads the team with three goals and seven points.
  • Keeper Mark Kotsopoulos have logged 850 minutes in net, while recording 19 saves (.712 save percentage).
  • Saint Anselm is currently tied with New Haven in the Northeast-10 Conference.
