MANCHESTER, N.H.. – A 98th minute goal by Siobhan Flaherty gave Saint Anselm a 1-0 victory over the Merrimack College women's soccer team in overtime on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 play.

How It Happened
Merrimack dominated the first and second half, 22-11,in shot attempts, but through the 90 minutes neither side would find the back of the net. In overtime, the Warriors registered two chances to score in the opening three minute stanza but was unsuccessful.
Saint Anselm's only goal came after Callie Millet took control of the ball, playing it to Flaherty for a breakaway. Flaherty then tucked her shot in the lower right corner of the net for the game-winning shot.
Warrior's goalkeeper, senior Nicole Curtis (Billerica, Mass.) continued her strong play this season with a four save effort, but Merrimack couldn't find a way to put one past Saint Anselm's keeper Cassie Quattropani.

- Merrimack held a 26-14 advantage in shots and 8-5 in corner kicks.
- Senior Danielle Dion (North Grosvenordale, Conn.) registered six shot attempts on the afternoon.
- Sophomore Jenna Savi (Dedham, Mass.) posted five shot and a shot on goal.
- The Hawks goalkeeper tallied 10 saves against the Warrior's offense.
- Both teams recor1ded five fouls each.

"Unfortunately, we had some chances today, but we just couldn't finish," said head coach Gabe Mejail. "I liked out effort against Saint Anselm but this game just got away from us."
Up Next
The Warrior's return to action this Saturday, Oct. 12, when they travel to Springfield, Mass. to face the Yellow Jackets of American International. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m.
