Women's Tennis Concludes Season With 7-2 Victory Over Division I Hartford
NORTH ANDOVER, MA - The Merrimack women's tennis team finished up their 2012-13 season with a 7-2 victory over Division I Hartford on Sunday afternoon at North Andover High School.
With the win, Merrimack finishes the season with a 8-12 overall record and a 6-6 conference mark.
In singles action, Katie Veasey (Atkinson, NH) and Erin mcMahon (Wilmington, Mass.) dominated their matches by the same score of 6-0, 6-0. Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) won in no. 1 singles by the score of 6-3, 6-3 while Kara Hole (Portsmouth, RI) defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-2. Senior Mollie Fitzgerald (Melrose, Mass.) won her final match of the season by the score of 6-3, 6-2 and in no. 3 singles action, Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) won 6-2, 6-1.
The Warriors only won one of three doubles matches as Veasey and Heather Kent (Auburn, NH) defeated their opponents by the score of 8-4.
