Women's Lacrosse To Host Southern Connecticut On Senior Day
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack women's lacrosse team will play host to conference foe Southern Connecticut on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. as a part of the Warriors Senior Day at Martone-Mejail Field.
Merrimack will be honoring six seniors as a part of Senior Day, captains Jenn Pino (North Andover, Mass.) and Casey MacNeil (Waltham, Mass.), Sam Kiesel (Lakeville, Mass.), Nicole Moran (Pembroke, Mass.), Kristin Elliott (Amherst, NH) and Liz Greeley (Norwood, Mass.).
Merrimack is led offensively by Olivia Huie (Norwell, Mass.) who has recorded a team-high 33 goals and 40 points so far this season while Pino is close behind with 35 points and a team-best 46 draw controls. Tyler Szymanski (Framingham, Mass.) has racked up 31 points and newcomer, Mia Rapolla (Gorham, ME) has recorded 14 goals. Defensively, Elliott leads the Warriors with 10 caused turnover and she has scooped up 11 ground balls while MacNeil has racked up 17 ground balls and caused five turnovers during her senior campaign.
Merrimack (3-10, 2-7 NE-10) enters the contest after dropping three straight conference games. The Warriors last win came at Martone-Mejail Field as they defeated AIC by the score of 13-4.
The two teams met last season at Southern Connecticut with the Warriors coming out on top with the commanding 21-3 victory.
