Relay, Livington, Weaver Shine for Men's Track at George Davis Invitational

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The 4x100m relay team earned another victory, and an impressive display by both under- and upperclassmen highlighted an all-around solid afternoon for the Merrimack men's track & field team on Saturday at the George Davis Invitational at UMass Lowell.

No team score was kept at the daylong event. Merrimack will return to action next Saturday (April 13) at the Brown Invitational.

Backed by a quartet of freshman Denzel Livingston (Billerica, Mass.), graduate students Ethan Weaver (Brooklyn, Conn.) and Ian Weaver (Brooklyn, Conn.), as well as sophomore Anthony Arcarci (Tewksbury, Mass.), the Warriors earned a first-place finish in the 4x100m relay for the second straight week. The group finished with a final time of 43.09 seconds, more than a half second ahead of the next-closest group.

Ethan Weaver enjoyed another solid afternoon, earning a third-place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 22.77 seconds before placing fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 50.76 seconds.

In the Steeplechase, the Warriors were represented well by sophomore Joey Smith (Medfield, Mass.), who placed fifth in the event with a final time of 10:26.00.

Finally, Livingston put forth an impressive display in the long jump, earning a second-place finish with a distance of 6.69m.
