NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Aiming for its third win of the season, the No. 5 Merrimack College field hockey team heads south to Long Island to face Northeast-10 Conference foe Adelphi on Saturday afternoon in Garden City, N.Y.
The Basics
Date/Time: Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 | 1 p.m.
Records: Merrimack (2-1) | Adelphi (1-1)

Last Time Out
After falling behind by a goal early in the contest, Merrimack tallied back-to-back scores to close out the half before adding three more in the second stanza en route to a convincing 5-1 victory over Saint Anselm on Tuesday night at Martone-Mejail Field.
Sophomore Katrina Squeri (Chelmsford, Mass.) led the way with two goals for the home side, highlighting a night that saw five different players tally at least a point. Freshman Eva Colarusso (Arlington, Mass.) knocked home her first collegiate goal late in regulation, while sophomore Sydney Bowker (Schenectady, N.Y.) and senior Candace Waldie (North Andover, Mass.) each found the black for the home side. Junior Gina Rosinski (Derry, N.H.) used a seven-save performance to pick up her first win of the year.
Last Season vs. Adelphi
Coincidentally enough, Merrimack and Adelphi squared off on back-to-back games last season; the first was a 3-0 blanking on the road in favor of the Warriors to conclude the regular season, and the second came in the Northeast-10 Semifinals, when Merrimack's offense exploded for a six-goal output en route to a 6-0 victory.
The Warriors:
- Have tallied 11goals on 60 shots (.183 SH%) in three games
- Average 3.67 goals per contest while opponents average 2.33
- Boast a pair of three-goal scorers in Squeri and Waldie, with the former holding a slim lead in total points (7-6)
- Junior Gina Rosinski (Derry, N.H.) has started twice in net and owns a 1-1 record with a team-best 2.00 GAA and .778 SV%
- Will play their third road game in four tries to start the season (1-1)
The Panthers:
- Have played twice in 2013 but challenged themselves early against reigning national champion West Chester, who downed Adelphi, 7-2, on Sept. 6
- Last defeated Assumption, 2-1, on Thursday for their first win of the season
- Mary Plotas (2), Lena Pollich (1) and Kristen Bagley (1) have tallied goals for the Panthers through two games
- Are coming off an 8-12 campaign in 2012 that saw them qualify for the NE-10 Championships
