EASTON, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis team traveled to Stonehill earlier today, dropping a 6-3 contest against the Skyhawks.

How It Happened
Outside of the play of Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) and Chealsey Giatrelis (Centerville, Mass.), the Warriors struggled out in Easton.
Messina and Giatrelis won at No. 1 doubles, 8-6, to give Merrimack an early 1-0 lead. The freshman pairing of Danielle Dunn (Middleton, Mass. ) and Mackenzie Blair (Thomaston, Conn.) lost at No. 2, 8-3.
Senior Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) and freshman Abbey Bryant (North Brookfield, Mass.) suffered a 8-2 defeat at No. 3.
Messina and Giatrelis won their matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to give the Navy and Gold a 3-2 lead entering the final four singles matches.
Unfortunately for the Navy and Gold, Stonehill proceeded to win the next four matches to capture the victory. Blair lost at No. 5, 6-4 and 6-1, as the Skyhawks clinched the victory.
