Women's Crew Takes First and Third at New Hampshire Championships Regatta

PEMBROKE, N.H. – The Merrimack women's crew team opened its season with two teams racing at the New Hampshire Championships Regatta on Sunday; the Warriors finished first and third in the event. Merrimack's two teams raced in the Women's Open 4+ Final, and the two teams finished just 21 seconds apart in the final standings.

How It Happened
The Warriors A team won the race by 10 seconds, finishing with a time of 17:28.19. The boat consisted of cox Jess Khoury (Bay Shore, N.Y.), Aubrey O'Neill (Pawcatuck, Conn.), Lydia Staschke (Guilford, Conn.), Emily Lane (Bedford, N.H.), and Norina Reda (Dedham, Mass.) on the bow.

Merrimack's B team finished in third place with a time of 17:49.41, 11 seconds behind second place Merrimac. The boat was manned by cox Caitlyn Marchino, Lauren Blazon (Lowell, Mass.), Mara Payne (Sandwich, Mass.), Zoie Lee, and bow Trena Jones (Niskayuna, N.Y.).
