Women's Soccer Primed for Mid-Week Matchup with Stonehill

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After a victory on Monday afternoon against Queens College, the Merrimack College women's soccer team travels to Easton for a Northeast-10 matchup with Stonehill College.

Merrimack erupted for three goals in a shutout victory over Queens College two days ago.

Junior Jenna Savi (Dedham, Mass.) continues to prove why she is one of the top offensive threats in the conference. She totaled two goals and one assist for five points, tying her career high for a single game.

She leads Merrimack in goals (6), assists (7) and points (19). In the NE-10, she ranks first in assists and is in a tie for fourth in points.

Freshman goalkeeper Molly Meehan (Fairfield, Conn.), who has appeared in nine consecutive games, leads the conference with a .941 save percentage and is second with a 0.42 goals against average.

Last Season vs. Stonehill:
Behind two first-half goals, Merrimack defeated the Skyhawks, 2-0, in a game played in North Andover.

Savi scored the second tally for Merrimack, which came in the 14th minute. On the goal, Megan Gada (Bozrah, Conn.) picked up her first career point with the secondary assist.

The Skyhawks:

  • Today's contest marks the fourth straight at home for the Skyhawks, all of which have come in conference play. Stonehill has yet to win a game during the homestand
  • Junior forward Meagan Elliott leads the team in goals (5) and points (12)
  • Jamie Block has played in every minute for the Skyhawks in net, totaling a .780 SV% and a 1.08 GAA

Merrimack concludes its three-game week on Saturday afternoon with a matchup against Saint Rose, winners of six of the last seven conference titles, at 2 p.m.
