SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team lost the front end of back-to-back matches this weekend, 3-0, to the Le Moyne College Dolphins.

How It Happened
The Warriors struggled to get much going against the Dolphins, dropping three straight sets to Le Moyne. The Navy and Gold lost 25-20, 25-20 and 25-18.

Le Moyne had everything going for them in this match, only committing nine errors over the entire match. Merrimack committed 11 errors in the second set alone.

Seniors Corrine Gosselin (Lawrence, Mass.) and Aliya Rakhmetova (Arlington, Va.) put forth strong efforts, combining for 16 kills and two errors on 30 total attacks. Gosselin recorded an attack percentage of .533 while Rakhmetova's was .400.

The Warriors hung around in the final frame, as the score was tied 14-14 midway through the set. The Dolphins proceeded to go on a 7-0 run to pull away from the Navy and Gold.

Inside The Numbers

  • Senior Stephanie Sheehan (Smithtown, N.Y.) totaled 11 kills in the match. She now needs 20 more to move into second place on the program's all-time kills list
  • Setter Tara Stuhr (Huntington Beach, Calif.) finished with a team-high 32 assists
  • The Warriors had issues defensively, but Madison Burke (San Jose, Calif.) was a bright spot, leading the team with 12 digs
