How It Happened
The Warriors were looking to start strong coming off their second loss of the season on Saturday afternoon against Le Moyne, and it was their senior captain that led the charge.
Midfielder Michael Rincon (Medford, Mass.) was involved in all three goals, scoring once and providing an assist on the two others.
In the 16th minute, Rincon received the ball on the left-side of the pitch and made a run towards the box. He beat multiple defenders using pure speed, pocketing a shot into the right netting. It was his third goal of the season.
Rincon picked up the secondary assist on the Warriors' second goal in the 28th minute. The senior played a simple ball to junior Augusto Silva (Hudson, Mass.), who sent a long pass towards the top of the box. Skyhawks goalkeeper Adam Colella tried to come out and play it, but freshman Juan Meza (Cali, Colombia) won possession and scored his first career goal.
Less than two minutes later, the Warriors were on the attack again. Playing on the right side, Rincon crossed the ball into the six-yard box, where Alexander Alleyne (Swampscott, Mass.) tapped the ball in for his fourth goal of the season.
Neither team would score the rest of the way. Senior goalkeeper Jose Silva (Northborough, Mass.) tallied five saves for his third shutout of the season.
