NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College volleyball team suffered their first lost in three weeks as the Warriors fell, 3-0, to the University of New Haven .

How It Happened
Merrimack entered its NE-10 Championship rematch with New Haven flying high as the Warriors had won seven consecutive matches for the first time since 2010.
The Warriors got off to a slow start, dropping the first set 25-13. The Chargers led wire-to-wire in the opening frame.
In the second set, the Navy and Gold began to get some momentum. Merrimack got out to a 8-5 lead, but New Haven began to get back into the set. Trailing 22-15, the Warriors fought back to make it a two-point deficit at 24-22, but the Chargers put them away, 25-22.
The third set was more of the same. UNH led 23-14, but a Merrimack 5-0 spurt brought the set within striking distance at 23-18. Unfortunately for the Warriors, the Chargers were able to record the two points they needed, taking the set 25-18.
Inside The Numbers
- The Warriors finished with a season-low .021 hitting percentage. The first set saw the Warriors notch five kills, but committed 10 errors
- Sophomore Tara Stuhr (Huntington Beach, Calif.) led the way with 22 assists and seven digs
- Senior Stephanie Sheehan (Smithtown, N.Y.) finished with a team-high seven kills
