#17 Men's Soccer Faces Showdown with #1 Southern New Hampshire Tonight (7 p.m.)

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The No. 17 Merrimack College men's soccer team is set to play in the highly anticipated, Northeast-10 Championship rematch against No. 1 Southern New Hampshire tonight at 7 p.m.
The Basics

Last Time Out:
The Warriors defeated the College of Saint Rose, 2-0, in North Andover last Saturday night.
En route to his selection as NE-10 Rookie of the Week, freshman Michael Dushman (Bedford, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in the 64th minute. He took a beautiful shot from outside the box, pocketing it into the top corner of the net.
Sophomore Jaime Cortes Torres (Seville, Spain) tallied his first points with the Warriors. He scored Merrimack's second goal of the night and also had the primary assist on Dushman's goal.
Senior goalkeeper Jose Silva (Northborough, Mass.) captured his second clean sheet of the year and notched the secondary assist on Merrimack's first tally.
Last Season vs. SNHU
The Warriors took on the Penmen twice, with both occurrences coming on the road.
In the regular season, Merrimack fell to SNHU, 1-0. Jose Silva made seven saves, but the Penmen were able to push across the games lone goal in the 63rd minute.
In the postseason, both teams matched up in the NE-10 Championship. It was the second consecutive year that the two squads had played for the league title.
SNHU, who eventually went on to win the national championship, defeated Merrimack again, 1-0.
The Warriors:
- Merrimack has not beaten SNHU since 2011 when they won, 3-2
- The matchup pits the top-two scoring teams in the league against eachother. Merrimack has scored 20 goals on the season, while SNHU has found the back of the net 36 times
- Senior Michael Rincon (Medford, Mass.) leads the Warriors with nine points and five assists. He is second in the NE-10 in helpers.
The Penmen:
- The reigning national champions and preseason NE-10 favorites have started the season undefeated (9-0, 6-0 NE-10). The Penmen are currently on a 32-game unbeaten streak (31-0-1).
- Jose Seoane leads the conference in goals (10) and points (23). Sofiane Tergou tops the league in assists (6).
- In over 700 minutes played, goalkeeper Dom Dimaggio has only allowed 4 goals on the season. He has a 0.50 goals against average and a .818 save percentage.
