Women's Tennis Suffers 5-4 Loss to Bentley
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – In a match decided at No. 6 singles, the Merrimack College women's tennis team lost, 5-4, to the Bentley Falcons in Northeast-10 action.

How It Happened
The Warriors trailed after the doubles portion of play, 2-1. At No. 1, sophomore Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) and senior Chealsey Giatrelis (Centerville, Mass.) dispatched their opposition 8-4. The Messina/Giatrelis pairing is now 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.
The Warriors wound up losing the next two matchups. Senior Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) and freshman Mackenzie Blair (Thomaston, Conn.) were upended at No. 2, 8-6. The rookie duo of Danielle Dunn (Middleton, Mass.) and Abbey Bryant (North Brookfield, Mass.) dropped No. 3, 8-3.
The Navy and Gold got off to a good start in singles play, winning at No. 1 and No. 2. Grace Messina won 6-2, 6-4. Then Giatrelis followed that up with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
The Navy and Gold dropped the next two matches, allowing Bentley to take a 4-3 lead in the match.
Blair won at No. 5, 6-4, 6-2 to send the game to a decisive, sixth singles match. Bryant could not pull out the victory, falling 6-0, 6-0.
