How It Happened
The Warriors took on the Greyhounds in the final game of the 2014 year, taking on a program that has been one of the strongest teams in the Northeast-10 this season.

Freshman Molly Meehan (Fairfield, Conn.) got the nod in net once again for head coach Gabe Mejail. The rookie started the final three games of the season for the Navy and Gold.

All four of the goals scored in the contest occurred during the first 45 minutes. Assumption got on the board first when Nicole Brady tallied her first goal of the year in the 13th minute.

Merrimack answered less than five minutes later as freshman Sarah Boucher (Northbridge, Mass.) scored her fifth of the season to tie the game at 1-1.

The Greyhounds proceeded to prove why they had only lost twice in conference play entering the month of November. Assumption netted goals twice over the final 15 minutes of the first half to take a commanding 3-1 advantage.

Merrimack outshot Assumption 8-3 in the second half, but the Warriors were unable to score. Greyhounds goalkeeper Rachel Edgin totaled seven saves, including three in the final 45 minutes, to record the victory.

Inside The Numbers

  • Meehan posted a career-high eight saves, albeit it in a loss. She wraps up her rookie campaign with top ten rankings in both saves (53) and save percentage (.815) in the NE-10
  • Boucher finishes her first year in North Andover with five goals and 12 points, both of which were second on the team
  • Junior Jenna Savi (Dedham, Mass.) tied for the team lead in shots with four
