MRYTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Merrimack College baseball team extended its winning streak to three games, as the Warriors defeated non-conference opponent Caldwell, 6-4, Saturday evening in day two of the Ripken Experience.

How it Happened

Sophomore Frank Crinella (Springfield, Mass.) tallied two hits and three RBI's to lead Merrimack's offense while also adding three runs. Senior Alex Ciullo (Fall River, Mass.) picked up a pair of hits and came across to score one. Sophomore Matt Brown (Belmont, Mass.), junior John Pastyrnak (Bristol, Conn.), and senior Eddie Newton (North Billerica, Mass.) eached collected a RBI in the win.

On the mound, junior Tim Cashman (Rowley, Mass.) tossed six innngs and scattered five hits while striking out eight batsmen to claim his first victory of the season. Freshman Nate Spielvogel (Brookline, Mass.) pitched two innings of relief and allowed three hits to record his first career save.
