Women's Tennis Shuts Out American International, 9-0
WARRIORS REMAIN UNDEFEATED, 6-0, IN NORTHEAST-10 PLAY
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis team remains unbeaten in Northeast-10 Conference play with a 9-0 victory over American International in NE-10 women's tennis action at Northeast Tennis Courts this evening.

How It Happened
Freshman Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) led Merrimack with victories at No. 1 singles and doubles. She teamed up with junior Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) for an 8-2 doubles win and then cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 1 singles. S. Messina defeated Isabela Daudt, 8-3, in No. 3 singles.
Senior Kara Hole (Portsmouth, R.I.) posted a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles over Eleanna Fulop. She also combined with junior Chealsey Giatrelis (Centerville, Mass.) for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Giatrelis defeated Ana Paula Simeos, 8-4, at No. 2 singles.
Junior Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) and senior Alyx Barnes (Portsmouth, N.H.) rounded out the double-winners for Merrimack, as the duo combined an 8-0 decision at No. 3 doubles. Muller followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Romane Wilmotte at No. 5 singles, while Barnes topped Jasmine Byrd, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

The women's tennis team returns to action on Monday, March 17, when the Warriors travel to St. Petersburg, Fla. to take on non-conference opponent Eckerd. First match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
