Women's Tennis Downs Conference Foe New Haven, 7-2
WARRIORS SNAP TWO-GAME LOSING STREAK AND RESUME NE-10 PLAY WITH A HOME VICTORY AGAINST CHARGERS
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis team captured a 7-2 home victory over the University of New Haven Sunday afternoon to snap a two-game losing streak. The Warriors improve to 8-3 overall and remain undefeated, 7-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action.

How it Happened vs. New Haven
Merrimack claimed a pair of victories in doubles action to start singles play with a 2-1 lead.
Freshman Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) and junior Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) defeated Samantha Nigri and Lindsey Conly, 8-1. Senior Kara Hole (Portsmouth, R.I.) and junior Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) secured an 8-2 victory at the No. 2 position. However, New Haven's Sarah Burzin and Martha Petzoldt won the No. 3 doubles position by default.
The Warriors swept five of the six singles matches to seal the 7-2 home victory.
G. Messina and S. Messina rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 1 and No 2 position, respectively. Hole cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win at the third singles match.
Muller prevailed 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 4 singles spot while senior Alyx Barnes (Portsmouth, N.H.) closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the fifth slot. The sixth singles match was awarded to New Haven's Pezoldt by default.
