Women's Tennis Tops Saint Michael's, 5-4, Thursday Afternoon
WARRIORS CAPTURE THEIR NINTH WIN OF THE SEASON AND REMAIN UNDEFEATED IN NE-10 PLAY
COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Merrimack College women's tennis team remains undefeated in Northeast-10 Conference play, as the Warriors defeated Saint Michael's College, 5-4, Thursday afternoon at the Tarrant Recreation Center.

How it Happened vs. Saint Michael's
Saint Michael's claimed a pair of victories in doubles action to start singles play with a 2-1 lead.
Freshman Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) and junior Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) picked up the lone doubles victory for the Warriors. The duo defeated Caroline Martin and Carolina Toutoungi, 8-3.
Senior Kara Hole (Portsmouth, R.I.) and junior Chealsey Giatrelis (Centerville, Mass.) were defeated at the No. 2 position, 8-6. In the final doubles match, junior Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) and senior Alyx Barnes (Portsmouth, N.H.) suffered an 8-4 loss.
The Warriors took four of the six singles matches to seal the 5-4 road victory against the Purple Knights.
G. Messina prevailed at the No. 1 spot with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Erica Bundrick. Giatrelis defeated Nicole Kellogg at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4. In No. 3 singles, S. Messina rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 win before Hole cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at the fourth singles match.
Saint Michael's Alexander Sulkin prevailed 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 5 singles spot while Hannah Benoit closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the sixth slot.
