Women's Tennis Tops Adelphi, 6-3, Remains Undefeated in NE-10
WARRIORS STUN PANTHERS IN NE-10 BATTLE SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN GARDEN CITY, N.Y.
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The Merrimack College women's tennis team remains undefeated in Northeast-10 action, as the Warriors stunned Adelphi University, 6-3, Sunday afternoon in Garden, N.Y. The Warriors improve to 10-3 overall and 9-0 in the conference, while the Panthers suffer their first conference loss of the season and fall to 7-5 overall and 6-1 in NE-10 play.

How it Happened vs. Adelphi
Adelphi claimed two of the three doubles matches to grasp a 2-1 lead in the match.
Merrimack's junior Chealsey Giatrelis (Centerville, Mass.) and senior Kara Hole (Portsmouth, R.I.) upended Jennifer Ferguson and Taylor King, 8-3, in No. 2 doubles.
Katarina Barborikova and Charlotte Moreau outlasted freshman Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) and junior Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela), 9-7, at No. 1 doubles.
The Warriors captured five singles wins to seal the Northeast-10 conference victory.
In No. 1 singles, G. Messina rolled to a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Charlotte Moreau. S. Messina defeated Haich at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Hole prevailed at the No. 4 spot with a 6-7, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Adia.
Junior Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) also prevailed at the No. 5 spot with a 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 victory. In the final match of the day, senior Alyx Barnes (Portsmouth, N.H.) picked up the 6-3, 6-2 win over King.
