Women's Crew Earns Bronze in New England Rowing Championship
WARRIORS PLACED HIGHEST AMONGST DIVISION II TEAMS IN THE NEW ENGLAND ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's crew team had a very successful outing at the 2014 New England Rowing Championship Saturday morning in Worcester, Mass., as the team earned fifth place in the Women's Varsity Fours which advanced them to the Women's Second Varsity Fours final and earned a bronze medal.

How It Happened:
Merrimack started the morning finishing third in the Women's Varsity Fours heat 2 beating out Northeast-10 Conference rivals Assumption College and Franklin Pierce with a time of 8:24.346, qualifying for the Women's Varsity Four final.
Taking on Amherst and Bryant for the second time today, the Warriors also battled against Bowdoin, Conn. College and UMass.-Lowell in the Women's Varsity Fours final. Merrimack earned fifth place after finishing with a time of 8:14.649, just one second behind Bryant.
In the Women's Second Varsity Four final, Merrimack earned a bronze medal with a time of 8:24.725, even though the team damaged the hull and had to cut their warm-up short in order to make repairs.

The women's crew team returns to action on Friday and Saturday, May 9th and May 10th, as the team travels to Philadelphia, Pa. to participate in the Dad Vail Regatta at Schyulkill River. Both races are scheduled for 9 p.m.
