NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis defeated Saint Anselm 9-0 in their first road match of the season.

How It Happened
It was a clean sweep from Merrimack, controlling play from the very beginning. Grace Messina  (Caracas, Venezuela) and Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) set the tone for the match with an 8-4 doubles victory.

The Warrior duo of Chealsey Giatrelis (Centreville, Mass.) and Danielle Dunn (Middleton, Mass.) followed that up with 8-3 victory of their own. Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) and Mackenzie Blair (Thomaston, Conn.) wrapped up doubles play with an 8-2 win.

In singles play, the theme remained the same. Sisters Grace Messina and Shakee Messina won their matches 6-1, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-1 respectively. In the No. 3 spot Giatrelis put forth a dominant effort beating her opponent 6-0, 6-0.

Muller stepped in at No. 4 and won 6-4, 6-1 and at No. 5 Blair wrapped up the shutout for Merrimack defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-0.
