NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis team defeated American International College 9-0 this afternoon at North Andover High School.

How It Happened
Merrimack got off to a fast start in doubles play, winning all three matches including a forfeit at No. 3.
Sophomore Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) and senior Chealsey Giatrelis (Centerville, Mass.) took care of business at the No. 1 sport 8-1. At No. 2 Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) and Danielle Dunn (Middleton, Mass.) defeated their opponent easily 8-2.
Singles play saw no change in the pace of the match. Messina handled the No. 1 sport 6-1, 6-1. Giatrelis overcame a challenging first game to win 6-3, 6-1. With the victory at No. 2, the senior guaranteed victory for the Warriors.
Freshman Mackenzie Blair (Thomaston, Conn.) put forth a strong showing at No. 5 to win 6-0, 6-0.
