WALTHAM, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's soccer team will look to secure its third-straight win on Wednesday when they battle with Bentley in Waltham in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup.
The Basics
Date/Time: Oct. 15, 2015 | 3:30 p.m.
Records: Merrimack (7-2-3, 4-2-2 NE-10) | Bentley (3-6-2, 1-6-1 NE-10)
Location: Bentley Soccer Field | Waltham, Mass.
Last Time Out:
The Warriors kept their undefeated home record intact this past Saturday when they beat New Haven by a score of 2-1 in North Andover. Merrimack would go into the second half down 1-0, but two scores in the final 45:00 would earn the Warriors the win.
Senior Jenna Savi (Dedham, Mass.) would score her sixth of the season on a penalty kick nine minutes into the second to tie the game at one. The game-winner would come from sophomore Sarah Boucher (Northbridge, Mass.), one-timing a pass from six yards out past the keeper for the lead.
Last Season vs. Bentley:
The lone 2014 matchup between these two teams occurred in North Andover and would result in a 4-2 victory for the Warriors. Merrimack's point-scorers in the game would be highlighted by sophomore Andrea Rego (Dartmouth, Mass.), who finished with a goal and an assist, two assists from sophomore Victoria Carter (Smithfield, R.I.), and a score from junior captain Megan Gada (Bozrah, Conn.).
The Warriors:
- Despite going undefeated through their first six games, Merrimack is looking to put together a three-game win streak for the first time this season.
- Savi continues to impress in her senior campaign, currently with a line of six goals, eight assists and 20 points. She sits top-five in the NE-10 in all three categories.
- Currently eighth in the conference, a win on Wednesday could potentially jump the Warriors up as many as four sports in the NE-10 standings
The Falcons:
- Bentley is 3-6-2 on the season, with their most recent win coming in a 1-0 shutout of Stonehill last week.
- Forward Ana Tatum, the culprit of both Bentley goals in the 2014 4-2 win for the Warriors, is at the forefront of the Falcons' offensive attack this season, as she leads the team in goals (6) assists (3) and points (15).
