MIDDLETON, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis team shutout an opponent for the sixth time this season as the Warriors defeated Saint Michael's College, 9-0, on Saturday evening from the Northeast Tennis Center.

How It Happened
The Warriors trotted out the same pairings as their last match at No. 1-2 with junior Grace Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) joining Chealsey Giatrelis (Centerville, Mass.) at first doubles. The freshman pairing of Lauren Persson (Barnstable, Mass.) and Mana Seifaei (North York, Ontario) returned to second doubles as both combinations won with 8-3 and 8-6 scores, respectively.
At No. 3, freshman Celine Mende (Shrewsbury, Mass.) joined sophomore Danielle Dunn (Middleton, Mass.) for the first time this season. The move paid off as the duo won third doubles without losing a game.
With the exception of No. 2 singles, the Warriors did not drop a set during singles play. Messina extended her Northeast-10 Conference singles winning streak to 32 matches as she has still not lost in her career. Giatrelis won the first and third frames, the final set by a 6-2 score to prevail at second singles.
At No. 6, Mende appeared in a league contest for the fourth time and improved to 4-0 in NE-10 play. She has won the first six singles matches of her rookie season. Mende was one of three freshmen performing at No. 3-6 singles, as Persson and Seifaei won in straight sets as well.
The Warriors have now won every conference match by identical 9-0 scores. The Navy and Gold have yet to win a league contest when dropping a doubles or singles match. Merrimack's lone out-of-conference match finished with an 8-1 mark against Colby-Sawyer.
