Women's Golf Finishes in Sixth at Dan Salisbury Memorial Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Merrimack College women's golf team finished in sixth out of 15 teams, at the Dan Salisbury Memorial in Springfield, Illinois, over the weekend. The Warriors shot a 326 in Day 2 action, which resulted in the team moving up three slots in the standings.

What They Said
Head Coach Nick Crovetti: "Overall a solid performance. The second day effort, moving up three positions was a good way to finish the tournament. Conditions were cold and not easy for the competitors. Hopefully we can close out the fall in style, at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio, next weekend."

How It Happened
Freshman Krystal Knight (Groveland, Mass.) finished in a tie for eighth overall, as she cared a 78-80-158 ledger in the two-day tournament. The Groveland, Massachusetts, native has now been the Warriors' top-finisher in three of the past four events. Additionally, she is averaging a team-low 76.9 strokes per round, while shooting in the 70s in seven of nine rounds this season.

Sophomore Jessica Wagner (San Diego, Calif.) led the way on Day 2, as she finished in a tie for 10th overall with a 160 (83-77). The 77 in the second round was good for the lowest-single round by any Warrior in the two-round event. The San Diego, California, native has shot in the 70s on five occasions this season, while leading the Warriors in two-specific rounds.

Sophomore Alessandra Ricigliano (Scarsdale, N.Y.) finished in a tie for 29th overall, with an 84-82-166 ledger. Senior captain Jaclyn Drew (Lunenburg, Mass.) fired a 174 (87-87), while finishing in a tie for 55th in the field. Sophomore Samantha Monaco (Brewster, N.Y.) shot a 183 (92-91), while finishing in 74th overall.
