Last Time Out:
The Warriors fell in both games of a home-and-home series with Boston University last weekend, dropping the first game on Friday at Lawler Rink, 5-1. Freshman Paige Voight (St. Michael, Minn.) would score her team-leading fifth goal of the season and lone score for Merrimack in the game.
The Navy and Gold would bounce back the next day in Boston for a matinee with the Terriers with freshmen Jessica Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.) and Jessica Bonfe (Woodbury, Minn.) each picking up their first-career goals, but four first period goals from the Terriers were too much to overcome as they fell 4-2.
The Bulldogs:
- Yale enters Friday's matchup with an overall record of 1-6-1, with their lone wine coming against Quinnipiac back on Halloween. Yale has also faced off with Boston University this season, falling 7-1 in Boston.
- Sophomore Eden Murray has led her team in scoring through eight games this season with an even four goals and four assists for eight points. Her four goals are tied for the team-lead, while her four helpers are tied for second.
- Manning the net for the Bulldogs has been junior Hanna Mandl, playing and starting in all eight games. She has posted a 4.29 goals-against average along with an .857 save percentage.
The Bobcats:
- Quinnipiac comes in to the Nutmeg Classic with an impressive 9-1-3 record, with their lone loss coming as Yale's lone win. They currently lead the ECAC with a 6-1-2 record in conference.
- Taylar Cianfarano is off to an impressive start for the Bobcats this season as her line of 14-6-20 through 13 games ranks 12th nationally in points per game (1.54)
- Goaltender Sydney Rossman has been strong in net for Quinnipiac with a .929 save percentage that is 11th in the nation along with a 1.28 goals-against average that ranks seventh.
The Huskies:
- UConn enters the weekend 5-6-2 with a 2-4-0 record in Hockey East play. One of those two league wins came over the Warriors three weeks ago in a 1-0 game in Storrs, Connecticut.
- Forward Brittany Berisoff, the lone goal scorer against Merrimack, leads her team with five goals on the season, while Elaine Chuli has posted a 2.46 goals-against average in net along with a 9.51 save percentage than is fifth-best in the country.
