NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – With only four matches remaining in the regular season, the Merrimack College women's volleyball team faces a crucial Northeast-10 Conference match on Tuesday night at Saint Anselm beginning at 7 p.m.

NE-10 Postseason Outlook:
The top-eight programs in the NE-10 advance to the postseason in women's volleyball. With four matches to play, Merrimack sits in a tie for 12th in the conference.

Last Time Out:
The Warriors lost in straight sets to NE-10 leading Adelphi on Saturday afternoon on Long Island.

Sophomore Mary Kate McCarroll (Harrison, Ohio) and freshman Sofia Basauri (Beaverton, Ore.) combined for 14 kills and each player hit above .200, including McCarroll's team-leading .308 clip.

Junior setter Tara Stuhr (Huntington Beach, Calif.) dished out 25 assists, while senior libero Madison Burke (San Jose, Calif.) collected a match-high 16 digs. She picked up her 400th dig of the season against the Panthers, the fourth straight season Burke has reached the 400-dig plateau.

Junior Jennifer Cain (Melrose, Mass.) remains in third place in the conference with an average of 3.37 kills per set. Burke sits just outside the top five in digs per set (5.36), while Stuhr is in second in assists per frame (10.01). She is one of only two players in the conference who average in double figures in helpers per set.

Earlier This Season vs. Saint Anselm:
In non-conference action, the Warriors defeated the Hawks in straight sets. Cain posted one of her best games of the season, with 17 kills on 31 attacks and 15 digs, which tied for the team lead.

Stuhr finished with a match-high 35 assists, while Burke and sophomore Christina Nye (Plaistow, N.H.) joined Cain in double figures with 15 and 10 digs, respectively.

The Hawks:

  • Since Saint Anselm squared off with the Warriors, the Hawks have dropped five of six league contests. Their lone victory came against Southern Connecticut in four sets
  • Sophomore Katy Teets leads the team with nearly three kills per set. Freshman Sarah Lowery and junior Brennah Gladwill also average over two kills per frame
  • At the setter position, freshman Jewel Hays leads the team with a clip of 8.62 helpers per frame. Junior C.C. Chrisom has the most digs on the team, with 217 through 16 matches

The Warriors return home for consecutive home matches, beginning on Friday night at 7 p.m. against Le Moyne from Hammel Court.
