The Basics
Finish: Merrimack College (8th/28)
Location: Hopkinton Fairgrounds| Hopkinton, New Hampshire
How It Happened
The Warriors were led by sophomore Keith Steinbrecher (Wading River, N.Y.), finishing in 31st-place with a time of 32:45. This is the first race this season the second-year Warrior registered as the top-finisher for Merrimack.
The Warriors would exercise some solid pack-running in the regionals as well, as all six runners for Merrimack would finish within 1:18 of each other. Coming in behind Steinbrecher was fellow sophomore Christian Gentile (Melrose, Mass.) who finished 36th with a time of 32:52. Junior Phil Harris (Plymouth, Mass.) rounds out the top-three finishers for the Warriors, coming in 43rd with a time of 33:10.
The largest separation between any two Merrimack runners would be 29 seconds, as the fourth runner to finish for the Warriors was junior James Wegman (Sandwich, Mass.) with a time of 33:39, good enough for 57th-place in the field of 189. Fellow Junior Nick Christensen (Peabody, Mass.) would follow closely behind in 62nd-place with a time of 33:57. Senior TJ Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) also cracked the top-75, finishing 72nd with a time of 34:18.
