NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After leading the Warrior offense in last Tuesday's 20-6 victory against Saint Anselm, sophomore attackman Max Allen (West Caldwell, N.J.) of the Merrimack College men's lacrosse team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week and the USILA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

The recognition by both outlets is the first such honor in Allen's brief career; he was previously a conference rookie of the week during his freshman season but has never garnered Player of the Week honors until lnow. He also is Merrimack's first USILA weekly honoree this season, as well.

The West Caldwell, New Jersey, native recorded his fourth six-goal performance of the season in last Tuesday's 20-6 road victory over the Hawks. One of those goals was of the man-up variety, and the lethal lefty also added five ground balls and caused a turnover.

Allen continues to enjoy a monster sophomore campaign as the Warriors head into the home stretch of the regular season. Averaging a nation-best 3.6 goals per game, he leads Merrimack in scoring with 38 points (36g, 2a) and is the conference's leader in goals (36) and ranks third in total points.

Merrimack will return to action tomorrow (April 15) night to host Bentley in the final home game of the regular season. First whistle from Martone-Mejail Field is set for 7 p.m.
