What They Said
Head Coach Mike Morgan: "I thought we stuck to our game plan and executed as well as we have all season today. Saint Anselm is a tough squad and we needed to be at the top of our game and fortunately we were. Our schedule the last two weeks have been extremely challenging and to navigate through it the way we did makes us feel good about where we are to this point. Now we have a week to get healthy and prepare for the stretch run to finish the regular season."
How It Happened
Seeking its fourth straight victory, the Warriors soared out of the gate with 13 goals in the first half alone. After both sides traded goals in the first 3:04, Merrimack would go on to tally the next nine markers before Saint A's answered midway through the second. The visitors would add three more goals to close out the half with an 11-goal (13-2) advantage.
Sophomore Max Allen (West Caldwell, N.J.) buried five of his game-high six goals in the first half alone, while classmate Tucker Schwarz (Tallahassee, Fla.) registered a natural hat trick in that span, as well. Junior Tim Towler (Topsfield, Mass.) and senior Kyle Guilbert (Walpole, Mass.) found the back of the net twice in the first half, as well.
The Warriors tickled the twine four straight times to open the second half before Saint Anselm answered at the end of the third to make it a17-3 contest.
