Last Time Out:
The Warriors suffered their first loss of the season, 2-0, against the Le Moyne College Dolphins on Saturday night from Martone-Mejail Field.
Despite outshooting the Dolphins by 14, the Warriors could not find the back of the net against goalkeeper Ben Beaury. The sophomore made five saves from Le Moyne who took a lead on a goal directly scored from a free kick with less than 10 minutes to play in the first half.
Sophomore Mattia Lanzi (Viterbo, Italy) led the team with three shots on goal, while Augusto Silva (Hudson, Mass.) paced the squad with six shots including a header in the 81st minute the narrowly missed tying the game.
Silva maintains his team and conference lead in goals (6) and points (16). Sophomore midfielder Juan Meza (Calif, Colombia) sits atop the NE-10 rankings in assists with six, while Silva and junior Oscar Zepeda Cagide (Jalisco, Mexico) are in the top-five with four helpers apiece.
Last Season vs. Saint Rose:
Michael Dushman (Bedford, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal and Jaime Cortes Torres (Seville, Spain) netted a second tally as the Navy and Gold took down Saint Rose, 2-0, last season from Martone-Mejail Field.
After not scoring in the opening half, Dushman scored his second of back-to-back game-winning goals in the 59th minute of action. Cortes Torres, who assisted on Dushman's tally, scored the insurance marker on a one-timed shot that deflected towards the transfer after a shot from Josue Ruiz Maya (Madero, Mexico) rang off the crossbar.
The Golden Knights:
- Winning four of its first six games, Saint Rose is off to its best start in program history which includes a 3-1 mark in conference play. The Golden Knights' lone loss came at the hands of Southern New Hampshire, 2-1
- Romaine Williamson scored three goals in two games last week en route to his selection as the NE-10 Player of the Week. He leads Saint Rose in goals (6) and points (13)
- Colan Balkwell has played every minute in net for the Golden Knights, recording 29 saves for a .829 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average
