Women Finish Second, Men Place Fourth for Track & Field at Bowdoin Invitational Saturday

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Merrimack College men's and women's track and field teams both posted top five finishes as the women, led by four first-place finishes, and the men, with eight top-three finishers, finished second and fourth, respectively, at the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday.

How It Happened
The women posted an impressive second-place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational amongst stiff competition Saturday, highlighted by junior captain Carly Muscaro (Ashland, Mass.) setting yet another school record with a first-place finish in the 60m with a time of 7.65. Freshman Michaela Pernell (Naugatuck, Conn.) finished in right behind in second with a time of 7.70.
Another first-place finish for Merrimack would come from freshman Katherine Tamulionis (Foxboro, Mass.), the first of her young career, in the 400m (1:00.94). It would be another one-two finish for the Warriors as sophomore Kiana Weary (Brockton, Mass.) would finish second in the event with a time of 1:01.28.
Both the women's 4x200m relay team and 4x400m relay team would post first-place finishes at the meet, contributing in large part to the Warriors' second-place finish overall.
The men would also see some tight finishes at the top as freshman Aidan Friend (Mansfield, Mass.) (7.09) and senior Taylor Jean-Gilles (Woburn, Mass.) (7.11) would finish second and third, respectively, in the 60m. Jean-Gilles also posted a second-place finish in the 200m (22.63).
Senior Denzel Livingston (Billerica, Mass.) notched on of two second-place finishes for the men in the long jump with a distance of 6.76m. Sophomore Kenny Clarke (Oakland, N.J.) finish close behind In second at 6.67m. Merrimack dominated the event, as freshman Michael Cuesta (South Portland, Maine) rounded out the top-five (6.56m)
