Field Hockey Heads to Bentley Tuesday (6 p.m.)

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey team will take on Bentley for the second time this season when they travel to Waltham on Tuesday night to battle the Falcons in Northeast-10 Conference road action.
The Basics

Last Time Out:
- The Warriors fell in a heartbreaker to #9 American International this past Saturday at Martone-Mejail Field, as they were upended in double overtime by the Yellow Jackets by a score of 2-1.
- Junior Rylie Hammond (Phillipston, Mass.) scored the lone goal for the Warriors in the game, giving Merrimack an early 1-0 lead in just the seventh minute of the game. It would be the fifth goal for Hammond in just two games.
- The Warrior lead would hold until seven minutes into the second half when the Yellow Jackets netted their first goal of the game to tie it at one. The game-winner in double overtime would come with nine minutes remaining in the frame.
Eariler This Season vs. Bentley:
- The Warriors and Falcons met at Martone-Mejail Field back in early September in what was Merrimack's second game of the season. The Warriors fell in the contest by a score of 2-1.
- Bentley took the first lead on the game in the 24th minute of the first half to take a 1-0 lead to the intermission. Sophomore Mary McNeil (Canton, Mass.) would score her first of four goals so far this season early in the second to tie the game at one.
- Bentley's game-winner would come less than five minutes after McNeil tied the game, putting the Falcons up 2-1, where the score would hold for the final18 minutes of play.
The Falcons:
- Bentley enters Tuesday night's matchup with a 6-7 record including 4-3 in NE-10 action. They are 2-3 at home this season and have lost three of their last four games.
- Senior Tori Ellis has spearheaded the Falcons offense through 13 games this season, netting a team-high six goals and 14 points. Freshman Sam Pavano has burst onto the scene with four goals and a team-high four assists for 12 points in the first 12 games of her career.
- Senior Evelyn Schaedel has handled the majority of time in net for Bentley, playing in all 13 games while posting a 3-4 record with a 1.54 goals-against average and a .853 save percentage.
