Women's Volleyball Travels to AIC Friday (7 p.m.)

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team returns to action on Friday night at 7 p.m. when the Navy and Gold travel to American International to face the Yellow Jackets at 7 p.m. in Springfield.

- The Warriors faced Franklin Pierce on Tuesday evening at Hammel Court, losing by a 3-0 final
- Junior Mary Kate McCarroll (Harrison, Ohio) led the attack with 10 kills and only two errors for a team-high .421 hitting percentage
- Classmate Christina Nye (Plaistow, N.H.) finished with 12 digs, the most of any player. She has finished in double figures in her last eight matches, including a pair of 30-plus dig performances
- Senior setter Tara Stuhr (Huntington Beach, Calif.) netted 28 assists, one shy of the match high
Earlier This Season vs. AIC:
- The Yellow Jackets and Warriors met at the Merrimack Invitational earlier this season, with the visitors coming away with a three-nil victory
- Stuhr's 21 assists led the Warriors, while seniors Jennifer Cain (Melrose, Mass.) and Juliette McCall (Torrance, Calif.) combined for 12 kills
- Jana Potic and Annie Boele combined for 19 kills with the Yellow Jackets hitting .219 as a unit
The Yellow Jackets:
- American International is in the midst of one of its best seasons in recent memory, winning 17 matches to date – already three more than last season
- The Yellow Jackets rank fifth in the league through seven matches, winning four of them
- Diva Rivas-Reyes has totaled 260 kills, an average of 3.77 per set, to lead the team. Those totals are also among the top-five in the conference
- Setter Dolores Kopren also ranks among the best in the NE-10, leading the league in assists-per-set (10.38)
