Women's Rowing Wins Varsity 4+ Race in Halloween-Themed Textile River Regatta

LOWELL, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's rowing team wrapped up their fall competitions with a first-place finish, crossing the finish line in a time of 20:27, on Saturday in the Women's Varsity 4+ race at the Textile River Regatta on the Merrimack River.

Head coach Dave LeFebvre: "The weather was ideal for fast conditions and we posted a time faster than some of the eights. It was a nice way to end our fall season and transition into our indoor training.

How It Happened
- Merrimack topped crews from UMass Lowell and Amherst on its way to the first-place finish, competing in fast conditions. The Warriors' time in the Varsity 4 was faster than some of the eight's crews from earlier in the Regatta
- The Navy and Gold utilized the same lineup that raced to a program-best 11th-place finish at the 52nd Head of the Charles last weekend
- The victory marked the first of the lineup featuring Augulewicz, Blazon, Khoury, Wengefeld and Wypych
- The event was Halloween-themed, with the Warriors donning costumes from the film "Risky Business"
