Men's Tennis Falls at Queens, 8-1
FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Merrimack College men's tennis team travelled to Queen's (N.Y.) College on Saturday afternoon, dropping an 8-1 contest against the Knights.

How It Happened
The matchup pitted the fourth-ranked Warriors against the fifth-ranked Knights based on the most recent ITA East Region poll.
Merrimack concluded doubles play trailing by one points, as captains Miguel Belfort (Caracas, Venezuela) and Nick Majewski (Brewster, Mass.) prevailed at No. 2, 8-6. Both Laurence Akwei (Johannesburg, South Africa)/Mikhail Belov (Krasnoarmeyskoy, Russia) and Frank Vega (Lima, Peru)/Tyler Clontz (Naples, Fla.) fell at first and third doubles, respectively, by 8-4 scores.
The Knights took first, fifth and sixth singles in straight sets to clinch the victory. The Navy and Gold came on the losing side of a trio of three-set finishes at No. 2-4. Majewski battled from one set down to force a third frame at No. 2, as did Belfort at No. 4, while Vega won the opening set at third singles before dropping the final two frames.
