How It Happened
In search of its first win in school history against Stonehill, Merrimack set the tone early and scored three quick goals over the first eight minutes to grab a 3-0 lead.

Freshman Bridget Schofield (Littleton, Mass.) opened the scoring with an unassisted strike less than two minutes into the game. That was followed by a man-up goal from classmate Amber Feminella (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) off a feed from freshman Aliza Jordan (Gorham, Maine), and junior Hunter McCarthy (Avon, Conn.) buried another seconds later to put the visitors ahead by three before eight minutes had expired.

That, however, was the last time the Warriors would hold a lead in the game, as Stonehill marched right back with three goals in a five-minute span to draw even midway through the half. The Skyhawks would add three more tallies to take a 6-3 advantage into the halftime break.

The scoring run didn't end there for the hosts, as Stonehill scored four more uninterrupted markers over the first 10 minutes of the second half to build its lead to seven (10-3).

Feminella got the Warriors back on the board with her second of the night at the 17:47 mark of the period, but that was answered by two more Stonehill strikes. The rookie notched a hat trick with 9:33 left, but that was the last time the Warriors would find the back of the net over the remainder of the game.
